The buffalo used to roam the prairies until they were almost killed off for the hides. A lot of the pasture lands are still the native buffalo grass. It needs very little moisture. We do not have a wind charger at the moment. Initial expense is the problem at the moment. There are a lot of the wind farms throughout the state.johnnybhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15583515325585742368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-775919414110128303.post-16690436939798503142012-04-07T22:25:59.448+01:002012-04-07T22:25:59.448+01:00Well saidWell saidNew Worldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13889455780863441881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-775919414110128303.post-32521040502957439952012-04-07T17:01:41.923+01:002012-04-07T17:01:41.923+01:00Oh and I ment to ask do you have a wind turbine on...Oh and I ment to ask do you have a wind turbine on your land? This year the weather has been so different that it is almost puzzling. We live on the High Plains of NW Kansas, so the wind blows most of the time. In the past year we have had day after day of constant winds in the 30-60 MPH range. Some days were constant 60-80 MPH. It just hasn't been normal. I guess it bothers me some. I was born after the days of the Dust Bowl in the 1930's, but I have seen pics and heard my parents and grandparents talk of them. If we don't get moisture, I am afraid of the same thing happening. A lot of the conservation practices that were put in place after the Dust Bowl years, have gone by the wayside. Maybe not so much here, but in other areas that I have lived.
I wish I could see your Ireland. The pictures I have seen are always so beautiful. My Grandmothers family (Mom's side) came from Paisley, Scotland, and my Grandfather was born in Sweden. What a combo! My Dad's mother's maiden name was Ireland. My roots go to that part of the world.
Once again good post. I always enjoy reading your blog. You have a good way with words.johnnybhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15583515325585742368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-775919414110128303.post-5271470546206976072012-04-07T14:48:48.242+01:002012-04-07T14:48:48.242+01:00Its not called the emerald isle for nothing. Its not called the emerald isle for nothing.DHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14199859409385042568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-775919414110128303.post-50638157734742060122012-04-07T13:19:22.582+01:002012-04-07T13:19:22.582+01:00very true post- I have been wishing it to rain her...very true post- I have been wishing it to rain here all week, am feeling very disturbed by my already empty water butt.

Have a great Easter weekend :-)Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06460939600819890006noreply@blogger.com
