Us at the top of Scrabo Tower, thats Strangford Lough/the Irish sea behind us |
I really loved the solid stone spiral staircase all the way up, you can see the dip in the stair caused by thousands of feet over the years. I love the age, those stairs were built to last!
Al and I really love days out like this, getting out in the fresh air even if its cloudy and windy, it really brings you to life, blows the cobwebs away so to speak! We also love exploring our country, I've traveled my whole life and we have travelled since meeting too and out of the whole world we chose here, we didn't just end up here, we chose here and that gives me/us a huge sense of contentment and security. This is our home and we love it!
Getting out for walks and hikes also has 2 other added bonus's - keeping fit and healthy, and being free (we bring picnics and a flask for tea) so our money can go towards our dream :)
On a funny side note - This is classic 'me' when out walking, I LOVE trees and so tend to walk around not looking where I'm going... Just staring up at the beautiful branches... |
Not so clever when you're walking over this terrain LOL aren't they pretty though? |
I LOVE hiking! Good for you getting out and enjoying the beautiful country! It's easy to get in a rut and not enjoy what you have.
ReplyDeleteI think so too, you really have to make conscious effort to stay out of that rut! I'm sure you do a mini hike every day on the slope you live on! The soil moving post made it look like a real mountainside, how steep is it?
DeleteI love the photos, Scrabo Tower looks really beautiful and you always look so happy in your photos, that is so nice to see.

Aw thanks dan :) It was a really great day, despite the weather! I'm looking forward to your gardening pics, hope it's all going well for you x
DeleteThat does look beautiful. :) My favourite thing about the post is your trousers though! AWESOME! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha I know! they are so cool, im wearing them now too. I found them in a charity shop for £3 and couldn't resist, now they're my favorite!
DeleteYou're right - it is nice to get out and about - I am not terribly brave about going out in cold weather though - but hopefully all that will soon change and warmer weather will be with us - that tower is amazing - looks like you had a good walk.
